Originally a theatre and saloon, the Alhambra building has stood since 1896, hosting iconic events like the grand opening production of "Men and Women," touted as the greatest American play of its time. Despite Prohibition's closure in 1920, it remained a focal point for community gatherings. Efforts to restore the building as a theater and music venue were underway until a fire halted progress in 2001. Today, the Alhambra Irish House preserves its history, showcasing original elements like smoke marks from the fire and century-old columns.
